I thought everyone was just buying the oem indy grille and customizing them. For my LS I bought the oem indy grille new for $80, removed the bowtie, and painted it red. That wasn't a bad look on a Galaxy Silver car. Pitchs grille is nice btw.

Anyone have that ugly chrome grille with the huge chrome deer?

yeah i think a lot of people go overboard with their chrome. i got the chrome 20's, chrome grille, and the chrome door handle overlays. i think its done quite tastefully and looks pretty good when all shined up.

absolutly an aftermarket part. They came out about a year or so ago. All Impalas 00-05 had the grille like yours with the bowtie. 04 Indy SS and 05 SS had the diamond mesh grille like mine.

kind of weird that all the police cars around here would all use an aftermarket grill
crazy ****. anyone know where to get more of these?

If SLP made a black mesh one w/o the bowtie and solid center piece, I'd buy it for sure. However, for the sake of aftermarket or not aftermarket, lets see is we can find out where the LS looking, without bowtie wearing, grille came from.

The standard grille without the bowtie? ebay has been the best place I have seen. I can check on my site to see if anyone has a retailler.

I've had no luck finding one myself. I did stumble across a company that makes a mesh grille for the Impala that comes in large or small weave, triple chrome plated or black powder coat. I need to find the computer I bookmarked the site.

I drive a 98 GTP, but am going to be inheriting an Impala as a work vehicle. We'll have to see how it turns out...

The Impala should feel larger inside due to the interior layout, and slow since I assume you aren't inhereting an SS.

Yeah its definitely going to be slower since its not an SS and since my GP isn't stock. Its a 9C1, not sure on the year yet. I'm hoping to do a few things to liven it up though.

stock 9c1 suspesion>GTP with every GMPP suspension part.

you will love the way the 9c1 corners......and hate the lack of creature comforts. i thought the 9c1 used the same sway bars as the GMPP......it doesnt, the 9c1s are way bigger and the rear springs are alot stiffer.

I've got front and rear STBs, a rear sway bar, with b&G springs on the GP. I figure the impala will handle in the same fashion as my car, but probably just better.

the front sway is where the big differance was. the GMPP one looked more like stock and the 9c1 looked alot like the RAT front sway bar we have on Vs 2000 coupe.
i would suggest that people upgrade to the 9c1 sway over the gmpp anyday.
if i had some 245/50s on this car i think it would handle like a dream. its pretty close now.
the 9c1 doesnt come with a rear STB from what ive seen on the 3 ive come in contact with in the last 2 weeks

post some pics of the impala.....also what grill do you have?

It'll be 4 or so weeks before I get the car. As for pics, its probably not going to be possible since its an active 9C1
