I recently had a bad experience from a forum member (REDCOMPG) Where I paid for a mirror, never got it, filed a Paypal complaint, then he sent it...in multiple (broken) pieces. Normally there is a section where you can report your experience to save others headache (and money). The Itrader here isn't operational either. Any chance of getting something working again? Maybe I wasn't the first and won't be the last to have their time and money wasted. I'm currently pursuing it via paypal, but who knows with them.

    Thanks.

I say no to this. When you purchase something used or new from a person via the internet, you are taking responsibility of whether or not to trust this person. If the item you purchased is not as the seller described you can take it PM or file a claim with PayPal like you did. I despise these types of threads that try to smear a person because of one bad experience. If you are upset, PM them or file a claim. Don't come one here stirring the pot, per say. These are just my $.02.

That's an interesting viewpoint. Stealing money in the real world would have you in jail. Here, the person wronged is at fault, and is chastised for trying to "smear a person".

Sorry you view a victim of internet fraud attempting to assist others and keep the reputation of the board in mind as stirring the pot.

If you file a complaint with PayPal and receive your money back, there is no "stealing." Was the packaging damaged in any way? Maybe the part was damaged in freight....I have seen it all too often when UPS/FedEx/USPS employees don't care enough about you package and do with it what they want. I'm saying that you should try to resolve this with the seller via PM and/or PayPal. I am assuming that a mirror wasn't that expensive in the 1st place, so you're probably not out a lot of $$. If nothing happens and you get screwed, chalk it up to a life lesson learned....don't buy anything from the internet.

There have been a few thread where the buyer tries to start **** with the seller. They usually get shut down quickly. If this gets out of hand this one will too......

You have no dates, no specific details on the events that have occurred.

People get busy and can't ship right away, it happens. When was the pay date? When was the claim filed? When was the item actually shipped?

That aside, it is glass, things break in shipping...it happens. You write this thread like he got mad and smashed it before he shipped it to you, what sense would that make?

This is not internet fraud, he did ship an item you paid for. UPS, Fedex, USPS or however, and it broke in the process, these things automatically come with insurance up to $100, have you seen the videos on youtube of how they handle packages? Did you try and contact him about the broken mirror before just going and filing a claim?

Have you tried contacting REDCOMPG before just filing claims?

This has been ongoing for 3 months. Money received by seller Jan 15, 2014. I have received no communication since Jan 27, 2014. Then it was to be shipped that week (and I was ok with the two week delay, no problem, I'm reasonable). As of Feb 23rd I had not received it. Informed seller. No response. I reported it to PayPal. It was received the week of March 20th (again, with no communication from seller). March 26th I informed him of the damage. No response. PayPal claim reopened. No response. Waited yet week to inform this board.

Every attempt for the seller to resolve the situation amicably has been given via Paypal and texting (where most of the transaction occured). In addition to initially not shipping, and then damaged beyond use when it arrived, it appears that the part was attempted to be glued back together, something not disclosed to me when I purchased it. It was reasonably expensive as I was looking to get the right color red and I was willing to pay the gentleman for the right OEM part on my 30k mile car.

So no, its not he shipping's fault and I'm not trying to start sh!t either.

My initial post was not detailed as I was just looking for a place to post this...not to actually have a feedback thread in the forum suggestion section.

Will take a look at the dispute when I get home to a computer.... So the mirror was received correct? But there's a dispute because it's broken? Now you are aware I well as I am that the mirror was at the JY so expecting it to be in perfect condition is near impossible.. As well I did bubble wrap the mirror complete I avoid any chance of it breaking during shipping. I also sent you a picture of the item as I picked it up before it was boxed.

posting a picture of what you received would be a good idea if you can.

Was there foam over the glued areas? That glue is not recent, looks to have been there a long time. Is the missing piece in the box?

There was not foam over the glued areas, no. I do have the missing piece, yes. It looked to have been glued at one point as well.

Here is the pic given of what I was to expect, from the seller, prior to me paying:

I don't understand how this is a response or anything different than already posted? How does this resolve the situation?
