Im new to this site but am in need of some input, I have a 2004 grand prix gt2 and I want to put some lowering springs on the car as well as new struts. i have been looking at the ssc lowering springs from zzp.com and the agx struts but the info on the struts says that the agx will not fit the front of my car. does anyone have any suggestions on what to go with? I only have a budget of about $600.

    AGX are kinda overkill.

KYB GR2 work fine for a decent quality strut.

Look up canuck motor sports, they make the SSC springs. They should be cheaper through them, than buying from ZZP. Also note that is should ride nearly like stock but with some extra bounce/pogo from time to time because of the springs they are. Anti pogo washers do help but it can't get rid of all of it.

    Let's begin

97-03 and 06-08 the endlinks connect from the control arm to the sway bar

    On

04-05 the endlinks connect from the strut to the swaybar. The 04-05 type strut have tabs on them where the endlink attached to.. The front struts meant for the 97-04 don't have this tab that's why without further parts they won't work.

Now what you can do is pick up a set of 97-03 or 06-08 style control arms and swap them but you will also need endlinks from that year as well as a swaybar.. Then you can run whatever strut you'll like on the front.

    Questions?

Ill go look them up i know i was looking at the gr2 struts awhile ago but didnt know what to go with. also will these springs and struts hold up if i have a large stereo setup in the trunk? i have 2 rockford t2 subs and a battery plus 2 amps. i know the ssc springs say that they guarantee no sag but thats a lot of weight. if it sags could i put a spacer after the mount

    thank you

i guess i will be going to get some different control arms, would i be better off to go with the older ones or newer? are the agx better than the gr2? im looking for a better ride since right now my stock struts and springs are giving me crazy body roll going around curves and corners hard.

also do you know where to find strut bar braces for the front and rear of my car? i can find them for the front but not the rear.

The strut bar is the same for both the front and rear so just grab two. If your needing the brackets themselves so that don't have to drill into the strut towers then drcustomparts.com

I believe the control arms are still the same..I'll either grab a set from the JY for cheap from the JY and replace the bushings with Moog problem solving ones. Then grab a Dorman front swaybar.

Hey Bud, just so you know the 06-08 years were mixed when it came to the sway bars.
My 06 sway bar was linked to the strut but I put the 97-03 control arms on to run the 34mm GMPP sway bar.

Yup.. That's a in general statement I still recommend peaking in the wheel well and seeing what setup you have. Surprise surprise GM probably used leftover parts.
