Setup consists of KYB Excel G's and SSC lowering springs with new strut mounts and anti-pogo washers, all parts were brand new. Any reason I'm still getting some bounce in the front end? Anything I can do to further negate this? Everything else feels great and it really only happens over certain bumps, not sure if it needs more of a "break in" time or if I should start looking for more solutions. AFAIK, this is a pretty typical setup, just looking for some input.

you'd be able to see the "pogo" by pushing on the front end of the car with the hood open. the pogo is from not being able to compress the lowering spring at all because there's not enough thread on the shock rod.
it's always going to be kind of bouncy with lowering springs on stock shocks. they aren't meant to keep up with that.

Pogo is what ^ described.
What you're describing is the strut's lack of ability to dampen the rebound from the lowering spring over bumps- so you bounce a couple times

So then KYB Excel G's are not adequate struts for lowering? So much for all the recommendations for getting GR2/Excel G's.

they're recommended due to the fact that there simply are not 'sporty' aftermarket struts for this platform. your other choice would be the KYB AGX, but the only reasoning being is that they're adjustable damping allows you to tune the frequency in which it'll help settle the spring.
honest, i rode around on GR2/eibach for a long time and it was a pretty stout setup. yes, it bounced a little over larger bumps, but i didn't have coilovers on the car or anything so i couldn't complain.
