Well, i think i figured out why i have been breaking those brackets that hold the dogbone down on the driver side. It appears my engine is shifted to one side. I even used a level and it confirmed it.
Here are some pictures to show what is going on. If you look at it you can see that the clamshell brackets dont line up with the dogbones at all. I tried installing it and it takes alot to shove the bolt in.

Before anyone suggests it. I replaced the motor and trans mount this year.
However, it does it appear that if i could somehow lift the passenger side of the motor up, the problem would go away. but how???

I am thinking that its the trans mount. Don't know if i have ever done that one yet. Because if its leaning toward the driver side then that would mean the engine mount is higher than the trans mount.

One of your motor/trans mounts could be shot. Jack the vehicle up and look at them behind each of the front wheels. Should be clearly visible.

Oh and not to dumb you down or anything, but was the vehicle on a "level" surface when you were using the level?

I could be wrong here but I don't think the engine sits in the engine bay level on any gp. They always seem to slope down to the passenger side. At least they did on all 3 the gps I have owned.

    Reread...first post of mine.. disregard.

FWIW if you have an aluminum subframe..it needs the correct mount, it's not the same as the old one.

i shim alot of passenger side mounts so that the grooves in the front valve cover sit at the same angle as the core support when you gaze across it

Just replaced both, that wasnt the issue though. I fixed the problem.
I have a full set of mount spacers because my car is lowered. Too much to explain why. Shorter dog bones don't fit with my setup. I have regular dog bones, cradle spacers and that gave it the best ride. its the best ride with shorter dog bones. Since i cant FIT shorter dog bones, I went with TWO sets of mount spacers. One on the top of the mount and one on the bottom. The engine mount is trickier though since you cant put a mount spacer in the bottom section, What i ended up doing is using washers and stacking them equal height to make it as tall as a mount spacer. This worked for awhile, but something failed.

So even though i changed the trans mount first, didnt fix the issue.
I replaced the engine mount, which was leaking. Didn't fix the issue.

So i then went to the driver side and removed one of the mount spacers giving me only one on the trans mount side, since i believe the washers went somewhere to add my height for the engine mount side.

As soon as i removed one of the mount spacers on the trans mount side, the issue went away and its straight again.

I havent driven it yet, but suspect im going to have a lil more vibration now that i have 1 less height on the mount spacers.

if you did washer type spacers above the engine mount then it'll just sag back down till its sitting on the crossbar if its a "solid" (aka not solid just hollow instead of hydraulicly filled)
the only spacer that would work in that way would be a flat bar that the mount crossbar/pin will have sitting on it

I talked with dave and his 3m windowweld filled mount is still sitting level and above the mounts crossbar.

nearing 50k with the filled anchor mounts according to him.

ive never needed shorter dogbones or other shenanigans.....you can trim the condenser and radiator rubbers/mounts and retainers and move the radiator forward damn near a half inch.
04's with the radiator mounted condenser you can move farther forward since the condenser isn't "mounted" by being wedged into place with rubber pads and clamped by the radiator and its mounts

Are you saying that they make an engine mount that isnt hydraulicly filled? what is a windowweld 3m mount?

Basically your making your own solid mount. Take a hydraulic mount or one of those supposedly "solid" mounts from the various part store/online etc. drill out 2 homes or more and drain the hydraulic fluid out of em.. Then you fill it with something like 3m window weld. There's a write up in the how to section
