Okay so i have gone through TWO of the driver side engine brackets that hold the dogbone to the engine. I was told i can either get a gxp one or a bonneville one. I hear the bonny one is metal and won't break. Does anyone know the part number or where i can order one? I really don't feel like going to another junkyard to get a replacement that is stock again. Let me know what you know. Thanks!

How is that possible? Are your lower mounts shot?

Bonneville never had an upper mount. Some were likely suggesting you do the lower mount that goes to the subframe instead of the silly upper mounts.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

You need to revisit your lower mount solution. Full poly will do well

This could be as simple as how the front mount is aligned to the rear. If your mount is crooked.. it'll snap pieces

Just confirming, you mean the driver side, not the passenger side? I know I've broken a couple of the aluminum mounts on the passenger side, replaced them with the L67 style iron engine mount / alternator bracket parts. Can't say I've ever broken the one on the driver's side though....

Yes i am talking about the driver side one. I will try to upload a picture. It is the bracket that holds the dogbone to the engine. I had a broken one before and then i got another one from a junkyard. I did some tuning with my buddy and decided to tighten things up in the garage and i went too tight and it cracked. I know i could just be more careful but i heard they make a stronger one. I just don't know where to get it or what its from.

Can you give me a part number Bill? I even went on rock auto and i can't even find what this thing is called or even find a stock one for that matter. My only other choice is the junkyard. I don't even know the exact terminology of what the part even is!!!

are you on shortened dog bones if so throw them in the trash and put stock dogbones back in with poly bushings.

edit also for drastic measure you can loosen all 4 cradle bolts and put a bfpb (big fvckin pry bar) in the front amd twist the cradle right or left to maybe help line up the top mount better.
How I treat my car: wreck, fix, repeat.

Screw you ahole.. I think you got plenty of help here.

    1. You were helped to determine which side it was
    2. You were told it's very uncommon and to look at the alignment of the front bracket
    3. You admitted you were the idiot that over tightened it and broke it. (A feat that even with an air gun I was not able to do)
    4. You were told which bracket was better, but ... most don't have the part number. Get on a GM parts site and find it.. Stop being so damn lazy.
    5. Did I say "Screw you" yet?
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

    1. Uncalled for but thanks for the help
    2. I already said it was the driver side.
    3. people can't figure it out without a picture.
    4. I will post a picture
    5. It holds the dogbone to the car, has three bolts that go through , its the engine mount DRIVER SIDE
    6. I looked on rockauto and googled gxp engine mounts, l67 engine mount, no luck Yes i know there is a better bracket, which is why i created this thread
    7. Don't know how you could'nt break one with an air gun. I used a two 15mm wrenches and broke it
    8. Yes you did say screw you!

Try this part number: GM#10306033 That appears to be the correct one, but double-check.

Also, not advisable to mouth off to Bill. He's a wealth of information.
