Thinking about getting some new struts for my 02 GTP and trying to figure out if it would be cheaper to build your own strut assembly are just buy a fully complete one. Don't really want lowering springs cause my damn down pipe is low enough to start scrapping after going over speed bumps, just want a higher spring rate. If building your own would be cheaper, what parts do you need?

You can just build your own.. Replace the mounts and strut and reuse the rest of the hardware from the old stock struts.. Hardware still should be in good condition. Then if your just wanting to up the spring rate.. I believe the comp g springs have a higher rate without lowering the vehicle.

Price out a set of whtever struts you want to go with and then a set of mounts then figure out how much of your time it's worth to swap the old hardware from one to another then go from there.
