Car needs new struts as I will be driving it around 700 miles a week and they're bad now. I was looking at rockauto for struts and noticed they sold them pre assembled with springs and mounts. Has anyone used the Moog Pre assembled set? How are they? If not good what else do you guys recommend? I'd like to stay with the whole package deal since they are already assembled and I believe they're cheaper than piecing everything together. I know you guys recommend Moog for other suspension parts. Anything else I should change when I do the struts? Doing outer tie rods too. Then alignment.

I bought Monroe Sensa Trac struts for mine. Not sure what the strut consensus is here, some might suggest taking the opportunity for lowering. The trick in buying a "quick strut" (complete, pre-assembled) is getting both a good strut and mount on the same part, and finding a pair free from defects. One of the Monroes Quick Struts I got has had a noisy mount from day one. So people say put a Moog mount in there. Fact is, Moog is a long-trusted name but the parts game gets more tricky daily so its safe to assume nothing about whats currently on the shelf. Personal experiences may vary. I think the SensaTracs ride good.

I have pondered the thought of lowering however I feel as if it would be much more expensive since i have to piece together everything.

I bet thats true. For what its worth, heres a tip...

The vast majority of these old bodies won't align perfectly with a new pair of struts installed right out of the box. If yours might have been bumped around in the past, or is no stranger to dirt roads, its almost certain that there won't be sufficient range to set camber just right on both sides. Elongating just the top knuckle bolt holes in the new struts outwards by a 1/16 or 1/8" usually allows the needed range of adjustment so the alignment tech doesn't have to "fudge" or ask for an extra labor hour to do it for you. Generally speaking, this does not create any other problems and it is a common practice.

One of the places I go for reviews on car parts is Amazon. Look up the part number for your car and read the feedback on that specific part number. I personally would just get ACDelco or KYB struts and assemble them myself. KYB has quick struts too

Of course they only have one review on amazon. Its 5 Stars though so I may go for it. $320 shipped to my door doesn't seem to bad. Just hoping other people had opinions.

Im curious on these as well. But I have more specific question, I see some are for 16" rims and some for 17" rims?Is there a difference, are the 17" slightly lower? I was checked napas site and comparing GT vs GTP for 2004 and the rears were quite a bit shorter in OAL gt vs gtp in the rears but the fronts were the same.
