what do most people recommend for a set of struts and lowering springs ? also anything else that might be needed while doing all this ? i have seen coil over set ups and i use to use them on most my other cars . do the struts and spring come out as 1 piece or do i need a spring compressor when taking the suspension out ? that is why i was thinking just buying new springs and struts together and not worrying about the spring compressor .

Probably one of the best setups, as far as I am concerned, is the KYB AGX strut with the Vogtland springs on them.

But it all depends on what you are looking for. This will only give about a 1" drop. If you want more, you will have to go with another brand of springs.

If you buy new springs and new struts, and new mounts (highly recommended), you can also buy new boots and insulator pads and just make a whole new drop in assembly. And when using lowering springs, you shouldn't need to get spring compressors. So you could just pull the old ones out, and put in the entire new setup that you assembled.

If you had planned on reusing some of the old components, then you would need a set of spring compressors to remove the old, stock springs. But even if you needed to do this, a set of compressors can be had for less than $20. And even still, you can rent them from most parts stores for free.

you need some way to correct your suspension geometry. if you dont do anything, you will experience vibrations at a given rpm.

you either need to shim the motor, or shorten the half shafts...but you cant let it be.

that stops the car from bouncing like you have blown struts when you go over bumps

im talking about the angle change in your half shafts. yes, they are designed to flex to that angle, but they are desinged to return back to standard ride height. lowering the car makes the half shafts slightly longer, causing premature axel failure, and vibrations.

The rest of the good info is I'm the one who makes the engine mount spacers, or shims as they have been called.

Are these the spacers that raise the engine up some ?
I have KYB and Eilbah Pros and went in for a aignment
    and they said why ?
    The car is sitting fine..
I said well i just had it lowered and will need one.
Car rides like a caddy on smooth pavement...
Just that smooth pavement don't last long...
The KYB's and Pro's is a rough ride---> steer clear
I love the drop it gives but would not ever go this way again
and once i get these off they are going str8 to the garbage,
as i could never sell these after riding on these myself...CRAP

By the way everything was brand new
even the boots and po go washers...

Idk what it was but when i was outside shoveling, i was thinking about some kind of police suspention for the gp, like take the suspention from a police impala or something, idk if that would work, or if its any better then the one we have in it now or or not. It was probably my brothers friend's crown vic police intercepter. I wounder if my gtp could smoke that with just a cai on it. I probably could maybe off the line, but not for top speed cause i kno they go up to 140.

What you are suggesting, GM has already put together for us. Its the GMPP suspension kit.

We used to have to piece it together piece by piece but they called it something different and packaged it up to make it easier to find.

    Held coilover FTW!

I have a thread with some pics and i need to update it with some new pics.

But ride is great and ability to adjust is great.

Slam it for shows. Raise it a bit for DD/ road trip.

Raise the rear all the way 2.5+" above stock for the track.

Costs a bit more it has totally been worth it, particulary for install wise.

Took literaly no time at all. It is only 10 bolts in the front and your done.
