I have been rebuilding my 2004 GT to last another 200k-replaced the front and rear sway bar bushings with urethane, all struts and end links, new LCA's with ball joints, both front hubs, all brake components, and yet, a clunking over bumps keeps coming back. I believe it to be the front sway bar links. I have replaced the factory ones with the two different Autozone ones(one has Zerk fittings, one doesn't) and now have replaced the Autozone ones with O'Reilly's greaseable ones and still the clunk comes right back. It seems to me that the front links are very long and possibly that is causing premature failure but I haven't got more than 3 months out of a set before the clunking noise comes back. This also happened before the urethane sway bar bushings were installed, too. The greaseable links were much heavier built than the non-greaseable ones but the noise that started up again seems to be the same. Any thoughts?
Thanks.
