    Just wondering when you guys replaced your struts/springs. I just cant tell if mine need replacing.. 13years old and 98k miles... Monroe has their special going again buy4 get 1 free..

    I just changed my rear ones yesturday.. both monroe complete assemblies from Napa... I have an '01 GT with 135,xxx miles on her and they lasted that long for me.. I'll be changing my fronts next payday to round out the suspension uodate..

    At that age/mileage I would go ahead and change them out. When I did the front struts on my 00 GT it was a good bit of difference. After getting the alignment done all around it was noted that the stock springs were getting weak as well. I'm just going to do new springs/struts all around and call it good. My right rear is clunking so I know the mount is shot anyway. Springs have 300K on them at this point.

    Springs shouldn't wear out like struts do. In Houston an average person should consider replacing struts every year because of how bad our roads are. Every area is different so its hard to say. With those miles, I would assume you could stand to replace your struts. The springs should still be fine.

    But with the cost of the whole assembly being not much more then just the strut... might as well replace the whole thing. Now to find someone to put them in. Just wondering if I should do it and if they are really bad. Just hard to tell..

    They are really easy to do. Quick struts can be done all around in about an hour
    98 GTP modded 1.9's, sd headers, 3.4", zzp 1.0 230K miles scrapped.

    Take off 6 nuts and knock out the 2 bolts behind the rotor, support the rotor with a jack or stand, take out the strut assembly, put it the new assembly, put back on the 6 nuts... literally that simple. The hardest part I think is the end links and maneuvering the old strut out... that nut is kinda hard to get off on the end link without air tools or torx bits

    I soaked my bolts/nuts overnight in pb blaster to aid in the removal of them and they came off with a simple 21mm wrench for the 2 bottom nuts and 15mm wrench for inside the trunk 3 nuts on the top of the mount.. the end link I used my air tools..

    Just search youtube or google.. plenty of how to's for the GP, Regal, MC strut assemblies... I've never done them before until last week on my GP and it took me about 2 hours for both sides since the first side was figuring things out for me..
