So I picked up some C5 Calipers and was reading about how the 06+ Impala calipers are the same Fbody except for being cast instead of Alum...So I am wondering if I can buy some 06+ brackets so I don't have to retap Fbody brackets to install my new brakes?

You're not going to need to retap anything if you buy the little bushings that work as spacers between the bolt and bolt hole. I think they only cost a couple of bucks a piece. I think the manufacturer isMaster Car or McMaster or something like that. One or more of the brake stickies has that info; I just can't remember the specifics.
Am here now researching something like that now.

Yeah 06' and up Impala front brakes bolt on with no problem just rotate the banjo fitting to clear the bleeder screw. I did it a couple of weeks ago. What are C5 calipers? Like corvette C5?

Vette C5 calipers have smaller pistons so they fill quicker than F-body calipers. This makes the brakes react quicker with less peddal. You stop faster and don't get the soft brake peddal that the F-body will cause ( unless you also use an F-body master cyl.)

BTW ( F-body calipers are aluminum from 97 up and )maybe a few more years too.

That's interesting as well I have always felt that the pedal has more travel than is should and after comparing the standard GP single piston and the Impala Dual piston I figured the volume displaced would be slightly more than the single. I would like a pedal that is a Little firmer would a F-body or is there a better MC to use?

98-02 are all aluminum, but they are gravity fed aluminum. The C5s are pressure cast, along with the smaller pistons, those are the major differences.

I'm not sure if C5 calipers will bolt to 06+ Imp caliper brackets. The calipers are a bit more different than just material... the F-bodies have larger diameter pistons, the walls of the pistons are thicker, and have cooling fins. Can't tell you for sure if the brackets are interchangeable though. I installed 06+ Imp calipers on my 04SS, going to put F-body calipers on my LS. (Pretty much just using what the local junkyard has available) I will be tapping my F-bodies shortly, already have the appropriate drill bit and tap...just need to get off my ass and do it.

If you decide to go the F-body route and drill/tap, I'll let you borrow them. If you need F-body brackets, I can get them cheap at my local yard.... might be awhile before I can get back out there, though. Just got done robbing a police impala of it's sway bars and trailing arms, lol
