Ok,Here goes.267,000 miles, and box stock. When I first bought the car with the Shyte tires on it I initially thought THAT was the problem.New tires....no change. The front struts are new. Now,the issue. The car has a slight vibration when off the gas most of the time above 60 mph. When pulling a slight grade and the road is slightly rough it vibrates a little worse. The vibes do NOT wobble the steering wheel but,you can feel it through the wheel. The alignment is fresh. When we had it up on a friends rack we used a pry bar on the control arms and you can move them up and down a little, maybe half an inch.CV joints are stellar. It has been suggested that really bad rear struts can cause this.I am guessing by the look of them that they are REALLY old.To repeat, this vibration only happens above 55 mph and MOSTLY when off the throttle. It IS a vibe NOT a wobble. We have checked the wheel bearings, wheels, and tires a LOT!Sorry for the jumping around....I am Autistic.Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you

If it was me, I'd make sure you don't have a bent rim up front and that the balance of the tires is spot on.

We have checked AND double checked the tires and wheels. As previously stated it only happens at 55 mph or above.

Did you replace all four tires?? If not you may still have a bad one on the back.. It honestly sounds for all the world like a broken belt in a tire.. If you replaced all four though that's probably not it.. Next thing I would do would be at speed off the throttle do some quick lane changes.. like enough to get the car to lean pretty good when you do it.. see if the vibration changes or even goes away.. then you can at least narrow it down to which side of the car its on.. for instance if you make a quick turn to the right.. taking a bunch of weight off the right side of the car and the vibration gets quiet or disappears.. chances are that's where you need to start looking pretty close.. In that instance I personally would start looking pretty hard at wheel bearings.. when they first start to go bad they are a bear to find.. you wont have any movement when its on a jack.. no noise at low speed.. that kinda thing.. just a low rumble or vibration that if your not thinking about it or have the radio up youll never hear it kinda thing.. Hope that helps some.. and good luck!!

Yes,I replaced all the tires.I have noticed that the steering wheel has about a half inch play in it before it turns the wheel. The play is from the rack naturally.Would this cause the vibes I am experiencing? Also, would marginal control arm bushings or a right front wheel bearing that is JUST starting to get iffy do the same?

I personally wouldn't think the control arm bushings or the rack would cause a vibration all the time.. Weird handling for a few moments after hitting a bump or seeming like you have to "herd" it down the road to keep it in your own lane yeah.. but not a vibration.. If you think you have a wheel bearing that is starting to go by the way side I would start there.. and I have also seen both wheel bearings start to go about the same time as well.. its not common.. however not unheard of either.. All in all I would start with the wheel bearing.. Good Luck!!

Just to update for anyone who G.A.S.Am going to do the wheel bearing and see if that's the deal since it needs to be done anyway. My VERY knowledgeable friend says it is definitely possible so.....we will see.
