I have a 2007 GP base model that has solid rotors. I wanted to know if switching to a vented rotor would work?

You could switch, but you'd gain nothing from it. Would be just spending more money.

Its not just a simple upgrade of switching rotors, so the cost is not the same.

You need the other hardware components to make it work.

Really? I'd like to see a pic of those vented rotors.... the stock rear rotors are solid and if memory serves me correctly less than 1/2 inch thick....
