03 gp gt - daily driver. i have hawk eps brake pads which have worked well for me and appear to have plenty of life left in them. i am experiencing very bad shaking under light braking and it appears to be time to replace the rotors.

can i replace the rotors without also doing the brake pads? or is this generally not recommended.

Its not the best idea to replace just the rotors. Did you just replace the pads?

no; they prob have 50k/3yrs on them (both rotors and pads replaced at the same time during last maintenance) but i am a very light braker and visual inspection looks to be about 50% of pad-life left. the rotors themselves don't visually look too bad but one or more def has some warping due to recent shaking/vibrations under braking.

they are expensive pads and this is just my daily driver so i'd prefer not to incur the additional cost of (pricy) HPS pads unless i have to.

Do the rotors for sure and look around a bit for pads on sale.

If its a daily there is no need for hawk pads.

I'd get some Adaptive one (ADO) from napa and some new rotors.
