Does anyone know if this tool will work to decompress the piston on the rear disc brakes of an '06?

Large pair of needle nose plyers work better than that thing.

No the 04+ don't...I have always used a c-clamp and had zero problems. And I took one of my old calipers apart and it was nice and smooth inside and out just like any other caliper

As said, its for the rear calipers. They have to be twisted in.

Yup rears twist. Fronts on the other hand use the old fashion c clamp method. That tool does work.

INTERESTING. learned something new. are the pistons actually groved or what makes them twist?

They have grooves for the notches on the cube and just twist clockwise to push the piston back in. It has to do with the parking brake or something
Does removing the spare count as weight reduction?

The 04+ twist in because of the parking brake is built into the rear caliper.

Marines has a Gxp. His rear calipers push in since the parking brake is not in the caliper.

All other 04+ rear calipers need twisted in. And as said before, don't waste 10 bucks on that little tool. A pair of needle nose do the job fine.
