You don't have to "delete" ABS to resolve your issue. As said before, pull the fuse, and tune out the code. How much money do you really think you're going to be saving this way?

If you are in an accident where braking was necessary and you have disabled factory ABS, you can be found at fault for the accident wether it was your doing or not, and can face fines, etc.

Also haven't replaced any twice its just a hassle anytime I do. By no means hard, just not a fan of these sealed units.

If the hub is broken then the abs has deleted itself.

You don't tune out the ABS, you Tune the code out so it stops reporting and gets rid of the light on your dash.

I understood what you meant. As I said wasn't sure that tuning the code out was an option. So essentially can tune all 4 out to report to pcm, is that what your saying? HP Tuners can do that do you know?

This is going to seem like a real troll thing to say, but, are you just looking to spend money? All you have to do is pull the fuse and pull out the ABS light bulb. Both can be done for nothing... yet you seem like you'd rather have someone program out the system? And what kind of shady mechanic/tuner is going to want the liability of disabeling a safty feature on your car?

ABS flat out SUCKS. It makes stopping distances worse. Everytime is has engaged on me I have went PAST the point I wanted to stop. I can stop easier and faster without it. On snow and gravel ABS is your worst enemy.

And no, you can't be fined for disabling your ABS.

First.. Unless a death is involved, I seriously doubt there'd be any forensic dissection of the vehicle in the event of an accident regarding the abs system. That said, with the system disabled, regardless of whether intentional or not, you are serious limiting your stopping distance in most scenarios. You're better to fix it than wasting effort to delete it. The person you save from needing new teeth, going through the windshield or requiring cosmetic surgery just might be you!

    Just sayin...

    Have a nice day!

Here's the funny thing, NOT ALL CARS COME WITH ABS.

If it was really that big of a "safety factor" it would have been a requirement to be installed for the past 20+ years, like airbags. But even with airbags, it is not illegal to disable them either since they are a SECONDARY restraint system.

So airbags affect how a car drives and handles? ABS does too? Are you going to avoid cars that come from the factory WITHOUT ABS?

i really dont have these abs problems, you need to learn how to use the abs, standing on the brake pedal is still the worst thing you can do if you need to stop asap. with or with out abs. in any weather condition.

as soon as i feel abs kick in, im off the brakes for a second, then back on them but not as hard as i was a second ago, as long as your not pushing to hard, abs wont kick in.

and ill add, i did the F body brake up grade, i have even less issues with the abs now. in the rain the car just flat out stops even if i stand on the brakes. snow it will still kick in, but no wheres near as bad as these stock crappy brakes do.

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

Scotty, the two times ABS screwed me the most, I was going LESS than 10 mph and barely tapped the brakes. I've drove non ABS equipped cars for 13 years before I got the GP and NEVER had the issues I have experienced with non ABS that I have with ABS.

Disabling ABS is not going to make your car any less safe unless a complete moron is behind the wheel. If the driver knows what they are doing non ABS gives them more control.
