Hi Folks - my first post....

Just got my car back today from the dealer for the third try at fixing a scraping noise coming from my rear brakes. It's only apparent when you are almost completely stopped - it sounds like a warped rotor.

This last trip they said they adjusted the anti rattle clips....ok, what do they do and why did it take three trys to find this?

    Appreciate any insight!

    Welcome to the forum!!

This is just a guess, but if they are anything like the 97-03 ones, they can be adjusted by bending them a little. However, looking at them on our cars, I don't know why you would bend them for any reason as that would inhibit brake operation down the road. We call them stealerships for a reason bud!!

Yeah the only adjustment is bending the **** out of them. There cheap enough, instead of rigging them just buy some, there only a few bucks.

UPDATE: the noise has been non-existent.....until this morning! Holy C**P!

I'm taking it back to the "Stealership" (still lovin' that term) on Wednesday - think I will rip the guy a new one.

Can't believe they can't fix this - this will be trip # 5.

Anyone have an opinion as to whether us Canucks can't fix a US car? I'm not sure where my car was built.

    Seriously Frustrated.

Your car was built at the Oshawa plant in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.

    Thanks Sabrewing.

But that blows my theory that the issue might be that the Stealership's mechanics can't fix a US car. So back to my original thought - the mechanics can't fix their own cars...depressing.

    Stay tuned!

are you reliving pressure on the brake pedal? I would suggest lubing the brake pads.

Thanks alacran - so far so good with the last fix.....they said they turned the inside of the rotor (where the emergency brake drum goes?) and it seems to have solved the problem finally.

Thanks to all for their input!
