Replaced Wheel Bearings and cv shafts 2 times, now again????

I have a 2001 pontiac grand prix 3.8 super charged.
I do not live on a dirt road but I do drive alot.
Car has 140,000 miles on it.

This all started in November of 2010 I replaced both wheel bearings. Well a shop did them for me.
December 2011 we did the front right CV Shaft and tie rod end
February 2012 we did the left front cv shaft
March 2012 we did BOTH WHEEL BEARINGS AGAIN

I am having a hard time with this car. Sounds as though the wheel bearings are bad AGAIN, what can cause this? Please help I don't want to keep throwing money at my car.

Should we replace everything again? Where should I start?

What brand and for the love of god please dont tell me your putting the center cv shaft nut on with an impact!

I always use timken wheel bearings from napa since oreillys doesnt have them and I use oreilly reman cv shafts since the warranty is the same as the others

Edit if a shop is doing the work bring it back and get it redone everything should have more than a 30 day warranty for parts lol
mechanic/install problem sounds like to me

well the first time the shop that did the work is a family friend and I bought the parts from car quest not sure of the brand.
the second time i got the parts from rock auto and my fiance did it, he made sure to look up torque specs and we did not use an impact. lol
my left cv shaft came from advanced, and it has a lifetime warranty the right one came from car quest, and they are closed for the day I am not sure on that warranty.

so we did a set of wheel bearings, both cv shafts, than another set of bearings, and now after all that a year later the bearing noise is back. it has been a rough loooong winter here in northern michigan lots of pot holes.

the brand of bearings matters. you cannot get the cheap 80 dollar ones with only a 1 year warranty. gm cars eat these alive. you have to spend the money on the better ones.

axles are crappy too. ive replaced several of these in all my grand prixs and my mini van--some a couple times over. i use only hand tools. i used brand new ones from advance and those are crap. i went to the orreilly brand and we'll see. advance always takes them back, though. sooner or later i'm going to just have to buy racing ones or something.

struts matter. you may need to replace your struts.

you may have motor mount issues or control arm/ball joint issues.

the good news....the bolts are not rusty and seized since they are removed every year

As the guys have mentioned. Some of our cars can eat bearings at a rate of about one a year. Which seems pretty much in line with your experience. I found that Advance Auto stocks Moog and gives a 3 year warranty on them. Add in a discount code online and I've bought as cheap as $60. Being that I got it cheap, it hasn't gone bad again.

As for torquing the bearing... in my experience and having a mechanic buddy that has done this his whole life, the spec means nothing. I thread the nut a few turns on and zap with an impact being driven by 150 psi of air. Gun is rated at 500ft lbs of forward torque. When the nut stops, it's the proper torque.
