For the last month or so I've been hearing an almost constant squeal from the wheels of my 97 grand prix gt. Is it just my pads if it is a constant squeal? My original plan was to just replace the pads, but I'm not sure after noticing that the squeal was almost constant. help is much appreciated.

If the pads are wore down enough and the warning indicators are touching on the rotor then its probably going to squeal all the time. Id at least pull the wheels off and look at the brakes and see if the warning tabs are in contact with the rotors.

A caliper could be stuck. Mine did that when I had a stuck caliper. Does your car pull to one side? Do you have excessive brake dust building up on only one wheel? If so, you could have a stuck caliper.
