Developed a shimmy when braking down from under 40 mph, car has 173K on a 2004 GT. Had a lot of road noise, so I changed all 4 struts(kept the stock springs)which made the ride smoother. Still noisy, so I put new sway bar links all around and that pretty much cured the clunks. Wife told me that there was a vibration when braking and I changed the rotors all around and put the 2005 front pads on(30% more brake surface than 2004's)but still has a shimmy. Had four new tires put on and the right front outer tie rod replaced along with an alignment and shop guy said that the left front hub might be due for replacement in a year. Ordered a new hub and left front outer tie rod and took it back to have them installed and redo the alignment. Rotated the tires at 7000 miles and installed new calipers all around. And it still has a shimmy when braking. No driving issues at all, doesn't wander, and feels solid while cruising to a hundred mph. Haven't done anything with the ISS but I can feel some steering wheel feedback when turning at low speeds. Now, I'm wondering if I need to replace the LCA's(new ball joints and bushings in a new LCA cost a lot less than replacing individual components)shop guys said they all yanked and pried on everything and couldn't find anything after all this. Any thoughts on what could be doing this? I've been reading about every post here about suspension and brake issues but nothing seems to fit my car.
Thanks
