Hi guys looks like I'm going to be installing springs on my car in the next month or so. Just a few questions on the springs themselves.

There are many options it seems for springs. I have been looking into DNA, CM, SSC etc.. The DNA springs I find are only listed for 97-03 gen or monte carlos impalas etc.

I can't for the life of me find DNA springs that say specific 04+ I know many people on this forum are runing dna on 04+ do the 97-03 work 100% on 04+?

example: 1.7" DROP SUSPENSION LOWERING SPRING SPRINGS 97-03 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX GT/SE RED | eBay

Also I was looking into CM springs you can get from their site or ebay. Are CM the same company as SSC?? I can't find SSC anywhere.

Lastly does anyone know the drop of dna vs cm springs I'm looking to get over 1.5" drop as this setup it temp.

I saw intrax drop like crazy but can't find em anywhere

    thanks!

ssc's are not the same as cm's. i dont understand the rest of the question.

http://www.grandprixforums.net/want-...ere-28165.html - 04's drop a bit more than 97-03 on the same springs.
2001 GT Special Edition - 208k miles, junkyard status. Part out in progress.

thats funny because everyone on cobalt forums claim ssc and canuck or cm springs are the exact same.

Also to clarify my question was which drop is greater the dna or CM springs on a 04+?

CM should be a bigger drop, but its not going to be drastically different. since CM are modeled after SSC, and DNA are modeled after vogtland, they are going to be lower and stiffer.

any springs will be a bigger drop on an 04+ because the car is heavier (in comparison to a 97-03).

you still think the cm would drop more on 04+? even with everyone saying the dna drop more than 97-03 because its heavier?

yes, they'll have more of of a drop than the DNA.

and yes, they'll drop more than advertised because the car is heavier.

The dna are advertised as 1.7" front 1.5" back for 97-03 so thats like a 2 inch drop on 04+ no? seems hard to get over a 2 inch drop out of the CM's but okay.

    cool.

uh the 04+ aren't that much heavier (50 lbs) but they do have longer rear strut and/or spring action going on there.

hm, so maybe the shorter + more shorter lowering spring causes the excess drop.

Unless the mounts are different, I can't see this being the reason for the difference in drop.

Might be weight, but again, have seen the numbers all over the place.
