Thread: Are these good replacement control arms?

im looking for new control arms for my 97 gtp and i saw these on ebay and was wonderig if there was anything thing i should stay away from.

you can get dormans for less. from rockauto or parts geek or any other seller on the net.

yup, i got my new pair for 42 a side, 97 shipped in 4 days to my door.

so should i stick with the dorman ca's from rock auto. i want some good ca's not crappy sheit.

i think im going to get the moogs ones . i like moog all my bushing are moog

moog have been good for years, they do cost more. the dormans are stock replacements.

id grab dormans.

its 10 dollars diffrence between the moogs and the dormans

Has anyone found any actual difference in quality/performance/durability between the brands, or do they just like barking a name like a troupe of trained seals? It's too darn hard for me to tell from online pictures. The only person I might know of that has seen a reasonable amount of control arms is Mike Kopstain. Think we might get his opinion?

dorman is just as good as a oem dealer replacement. the moogs would be a upgrade.

i had all sorts of clunking when turning or hitting bumps, the new lca's took all that away and tightened up the front end nice.

i would not buy them china made crap parts off ebay, not for lca's anyways.

How so?

its all in the bushings they make, they have been of higher quality over stock for ever.

I got dormans. Helped out the front end a lot. It used to be really wishy washy, especially on gravel. Much more stable now.

Are you guessing, based on the company's track record, rather than an objective analysis of the part?

side by side and 20+ years of using their parts. they are made better hands down. and last longer.

its simple to see what you are paying for, go to the parts store and ask to see the parts made by moog and another company. you'll want the moogs. this goes for any cars front end parts, not just the W bodys.

but like i said and a few others the dormans are a good stock replacement.

I'm concerned about the specific part. Seldom does everyone of a company's products top every single class. Sometimes, they're second place. Look at MSD's coil packs, for an example.

Is the quality of rubber different? Stiffness? Is the metal nicer? Are there features?
