So recently my brake light has been popping on--both the (!) light and (P)--when I first drive the car. It turns off during braking, but I never feel any issues in the pedal and still have all my stopping power. My wife is going to start driving the car soon, so I want to be sure it's safe for her. Thoughts? Would it put off some sort of diagnostic code that can be read?

    check the fluid level.

Find and check out the brake switch sensor.

Oh, should'a mentioned the fluid is fine. That was the very fist thing I checked. I've never heard of a brake switch sensor -- are you talking about the fluid sensor?

03 GT. It's got 213k on it, so I wouldn't be surprised if whatever's wrong is due to wear and tear.
