So my bouncing issue is fixed...$700 later. The bouncing was caused by bad front, lower bushings. THEN I had to have new brakes and rotors on the front, an air filter and an alignment. Now it drives smooth! It never fails when one thing is found there is more to go along with it. I still have to figure out why my engine light has been on for 2 years and I want to get the part to hopefully fix my fluctuating gas gauge. Always something!

I want to get an idea of what my problem may be...

When I'm driving and hit any kind of bump my tires rub on the wheel well, especially in the rear. I have had struts replaced in both the front and rear within the past 1.5 years. I have the pregen wheels and tires. Could this be that my struts are bad again or the springs? I'm afraid of this issue wearing down my tires so I'm trying to get an idea of where to begin...

springs aren't stiff enough to keep the car off the wheels. the wheels youre running also have a low offset so the potential for rubbing is increased just by that.

options: replace stock springs that are probably old and saggy, replace springs with lower springs that have a higher spring rate, run a smaller sized tire, run a different wheel, or roll your fenders.

only one of those options are cheap: roll your fenders.

its yer springs. thats why you replace them with your struts if theyre worn, to save the trouble later.

I'm gonna have the springs replaced just for safety measure. What's involved in rolling the fenders?

i really should do a writeup on it. however, for the time being i would suggest searching the internet.

do not follow others advise about baseball bats, phone books, etc. you have to ways to roll fenders: a hammer or a fender roller, but both involve a heat gun and patience.

For the rubbing issue, I didn't see it asked, but what size tires are you running?

Not the wheels or the tired thank goodness, but my tires are 225/60R16. It was my bushings now that they are fixed no more rubbing!
