ok so a few weeks ago I replaced the passenger outer tie-rod and both wheel bearing hub assembly's front drivers and front passenger side.. I have brand new tires... upon on accelerating the car starts to shake and only when I try to accelerate does the car shake, when I let off the gas it drives perfectly smooth.. Seems like the shaking is coming from the front passenger side... whats weird is the axle on the drivers side is leaking grease and am very well aware that i'll need to replace it soon... Im a little stumped as to what the issue is now. Thank you guys for any help you can provide me... I greatly appreciate it.

did it do this before the tie rod change? and did you have your car aligned after you did the work. if not, rotate the tires and go get an alignment.

and hows your tires, maybe try rotating the rears to the front, see if that helps. tires wear gets all messed up when you have bad parts, and now that the wheels are straight, it may not want to roll right anymore.

i had the same problem with mine, only got vibration under any sort of load. replaced all my front end parts (which were bad anyways) and it was still there. I just bought two new axles the other day, threw them in, and its gone. they looked fine when the old ones came out, but that fixed my issue

Sorry I haven't replied.. To answer some questions.. I did get an alignment after installing the 2 wheel bear hub assemblies, pads + rotors, outer tie rod end and my car has brand new tires on them with less than 3,000 miles on them. I'm hoping an inner tie tod wouldn't be the culprit.. I really hope it's an axcel issue cuz that I can do provided I buy the parts. What do you guys think? Thanks again for the quick replys guys

    Your problem is an axle.

    So replace them.

Well I replaced the drivers side axle and no such luck.. Car still shakes when I accelerate even after the fact I installed the new axle.. Granted on the plus side the driver side axle needed to be replaced anyway but I was hoping the issue would of been resolved.. So now I'm guessing it's the inner tie rod on the passenger side because when I wiggle the wheel from left to right it has a little play and what appears to be the inner tie rod... So far I have replaced the 2 front wheel bearing hub assembly's, front pads and rotors that includes the rear as well.. Brand new tires (4) outer tie rod end (passenger side) and a wheel alignment... So all I can think of now is that inner tie rod on the passenger side cuz that's all that seems to have some sort of play in it... This is frustrating.. Anyone care to chime in please feel free and thank you all for your help

if you found play, fix that and get it aligned again, should have done them both the first time.

I should have done them both first as thats the best way to do it but I figured that one side was the issue and thought the problem would be solved... so this will be the next step.. Luckily I have a friend of mine that works at a shop and will charge me only $40.00 for another alignment

I am having almost the exact same problem. My car seems to shake worse uphill and downhill. I have only had my 2000 GTP for a few days and it seems like the shaking is getting worse. I am thinking about getting the CV axles replaced, but I would hate to be wrong.

your going to want to jack up one side at a time, leave the wheel bolted on, and push and pull the wheel from the 3 and 6 position to test the tie rods, for play. and 12 to 6 to check the ball joint for play.

then take the wheel off, and look at the bushing for the lower control arms, are they dry rotted and crappy looking? torn?

you basically need to check the whole front end.

could be a simple as a bad tire, or out of balance tire. you can rotate the front tires to the back and see if it stops.

if all this checks out it could be a axle, but looking at stuff is free, so make sure it all looks good before you spend money.

Take a look at the motor mounts, if they are shot it could be causing axle bind similar to the shake lowered cars get.

    CV Axle.

I had this issue shortly before a cv axle blew up on me leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere.

which is majority of the time the actual problem, not being lowered.
