ok calling all gxp owners or those who have up graded with gxp struts i have a question for you. I am in need of struts i was looking into buying used stock gxp struts and having them rebuilt but bilstein said it depends on how the strut is held together.....so my question is where the rod extrudes from the body is the body crimped or is there a c-clip retaining the end cap

even if it's crimped, can't they still disassemble, revalve, and reassemble?

I can't exactly remember but I heard only the front or back can be rebuilt. You should contact bilstein.

If you want to know if a shock or strut can be rebuilt, call the guys at R.E. Suspension at 704-664-2277. They are among the best shock rebuilders and revalvers in the world. If anyone can rebuild it properly, they can, and they probably won't charge as much as Bilstein either.

    Go to bilsteincanada.com

Lookup y/m/m and look at the images. Those will be the best images you'll find.

i can get them dirt cheap and have them rebuilt which would basically be new then.....and matt that normally shows their after market strut which are not the same as the ones on the gxp as the ones on the gxps were made the way gm wanted it not how bilstein wanted it
