    my friend has a 99 gt coupe, and everytime she hits a bump or does a sharp turn the driver side rear has a big clunk.. its not her springs but i'm not sure what else it could be. any answers would be appreciated.

    check the strut mount in the trunk.

    Check the track bar, too. Both myself and my mechanics could not find it as the problem until it was totally broken. See below.

    Can I see that from just looking closely underneath the car? It wasn't her strut mounts so is it possible it could be due to her tie rods or ball joints? (I'm def not good with suspension sorry)

    Check the U-clamp that fixes the stabilizer bar to the frame. A friend of mine had one loose and directional changes or rapid braking caused it to clunk against the frame....cheap fix if that's it.

    Sortof -- I didn't find mine until it was too late, but shake the track bar (it goes from the center of the car down at a slight angle to the wheel) both on the ground and jacked up.
