so... i busted the passenger rear brake line right by the fuel filter. i couldn't get the old line off and since its really cold outside and 75% of your braking power is in the front, i just plugged the 2 rear brake lines at the ABS pump module. it now has a perfect seal and its not leaking at those plug fittings.
here is the problems/symptoms...
the front drivers side brakes barely work. i know this because i lifted the front end with a jack and put it into drive and while it idles, and i have a friend hit the brakes, the drivers side barely slows down, much less locks up. also, while bleeding the drivers side, fluid only drips out whereas the front passenger is a solid stream like it should be. also the brake pedal goes all the way to the floor. this is the reason i was trying to bleed the brakes but like i said, the front drivers side only drips out and i must have turned the bleeder screw 2 or more full 360 degree turns and nothing...
another symptom, and its done this ever since i got the car...
only in the winter when the wheels lock up really easily on ice or snow, when i hit the brakes, the brakes pulsate very badly and i hear grinding noises and what sounds like clicking from some electrical devise under the dash. this does not happen under normal braking conditions and only when i believe the abs function kicks in and attempts to do its job. Ive driven an older 97 grand prix se with the 3800 NA and when i slam on the brakes in the snow in that thing i feel absolutly no pulsating or weird noises and it stops the car in the snow at an amazing rate. (this i believe is supposed to be normal function of an abs system. others have told me pulsating of the brake pedal is normal of when abs is working but i have never in my life felt that from a normaly functioning abs system. maybe im just lucky... idk)
is it posible the abs module pump thing is the cause of both the caliper issue and pulsating issue? or maybe both a siezed front drivers caliper and the abs module are bad?
no codes either
anybody with any suggestions or questions would be greatly appreciated... thanks!
