I have a 2000 pontiac grand prix, and was thinking about lowering it with eibach lowering springs. Any suggestions? Pro's? Con's? Tips? I was gonna do 1.5 in front, and 1 in back. Would 1.5in actually make a decent visual differance? lot's of questions, sorry.

    Pros: Looks cooler...possible handling differences

Cons: Rides rougher...wears out everything faster and initially costs quite a bit

You honestly can't get away with lowering a 100k+ mile car without at least replacing halfshafts, struts, strut mounts (and probably bellows and bumpstops), and balljoints. You'll need an alignment too, so factor in the $60-100. I've wore out my tires pretty fast.

i have eibach pro kit and KYB AGX drop on my GTP (used to be on GT and swapped it over) i LOVE how it handles, yes you feel more bumps but its still a comfortable ride on stock tires. it adverties a certain drop but the overall drop was around 2 inches so yes it makes a NICE visual apperance i will try to dig up some pics to help you out

Looks really nice! My big thing i guess is that I only drive it about 5000 miles a year or so, it has 60k, and would i be safe doing springs, and new retainer caps? or is the wear really THAT horrible?

you'd probably be fine, but by 100k everything will be shot as hell.

i ran for like 50k miles on eibachs on GR2 struts and never felt it was a bad ride. the struts were probably in need to being replaced by that point though as it was getting a little bouncy over larger bumps and dips.

I'm hoping by 100k I'll be out of college with a decent job and can afford to mess with that ha. So would you recommend it for my situation?

doing it 'right' means youre gonna spend at least $1000. doing it 'wrong' and putting drop springs on your stock struts and going with it might work for a while, but they are already fairly worn at 60k miles.

Could you suggest me a specific strut/shock? Doing it right is best at the end of the day. I mean that car is my baby ha

If it is your baby... get a solid set of coilovers and call it a day

They're a little pricey, but like they said, now is the time to do it right and replace the worn out parts.

KYB AGX struts are made for lowering i put somewhere around 10K on that setup in that car and nothing wore or broke, i now have that same setup on the GTP with 4 brand new mounts and all is still good
