stock mount doesnt accept 2.5" diameter springs without the right spring seat.

i would make your own upper mounts.

Front upper mounts you can modify the stock mount, it retains the curvature but will require
( in my case) some machine shop work. The rear mount we found it easier to start from scratch
using the stock mount as a model. 3/16" steel is what we used. Machine shop is still the center
cup for the rears so I can't post any pics yet.

Is the purpose of coil overs to adjust ride height?

For most thats probably it. Some want to handle which is what i'm after so i'm looking for some stiffer rates or just better setup overall. I plan on keeping power under 300 to the wheels and possibly 5spd swap since i've noticed even my tuned regals transmission hates cornering and applying power when i want.

Thanks for the help guys! I seen the one person who has done his own and used modified factory front mounts just wasn't sure about the rears. Pretty sure their plastic anyways.

Sounds like you need a LSD more than a 5 speed.

No, it was the way it acted when I was coming out of a corner. Floored it then jumped around atleast 3x then engaged so hard it hurt me...

wow. That could pay for my sons' preschool and some schooling after that for some time. Or 3 sets of tires. Or redo my entire suspension and new exhaust.

Coilovers at 1500 just to get started.

Throw in a set of sway bars other than GMPP and you're basically at 1900.

Still have the LCA's, trailing arm, lateral arms, tie rods etc.

who said i was buying a coilover kit? i'm making my own which will be no where near that price. Especially since i work in a steel shop and my buddies' work has a full on machine shop. Also if i was buying a new diff it wouldn't be GM's.

I agrre about making your own....with a little elbow grease, you can make your own for not much more than the cost of a good set of struts and lowering springs...that's what i am doing

    What struts are you using?

Because quality struts cost big bucks.

I have a set of koni's that are getting custom two stage valving done by a race shop(a guy who does struts for the SCCA racers). I dont suppose you would want to sell a couple of rear upper mounts would ya?

quality struts are what i can afford. The 1500 dollar ones from hmt or whatever their name is are just made with kyb's anyways. Unless you wanna give closer to 2k for the koni's.
