I need to install new rotors and pads all around my 01 gtp. Ive got the brake silicon, and will buy new clips.. (i forget what there called). I also will clean out the calipers and other areas before installation. Any other tips? Im not doing this on my own, the person I am doing it with has installed rotors before, but I would like to see if I am over looking anything.

    Thanks for the tips!

hey so tell me what happened... i gotta do my rear rotors and pads this weekend, and I'm wondering if a normal c-clamp will retract the cylinders...reason i ask is because on my 88 regal you need a special tool that turns them as they retract...

make sure and spray the rotors with brake clean before putting the pads on (they have a coating on them that will clog the pads)

A normal C-clamp will work just fine.

My Lumina had those calipers. I hated using that little tool to turn the caliper as you compressed it. I dont think GM uses those calipers anymore, they were garbage. I replaced mine very often due to failure on the Lumina and was able to be part of a class action suit against GM for crappy calipers. I only was reimbursed 50 bucks though
Anyway No need for that tool with our calipers.

yea thats great news,as i currently have my rotors and pads on the way from zzp.... and thank goodness they discontinued those calipers, they sucked....tell me did you know they needed to be turned to retract, or did you destroy a c-clamp or two like i did???
