Yes Please! Does your magnasteer still function correctly? I only ask because mine doesn't if I pull the ABS fuse.

magnasteer is pretty much what it sounds like. it amplifies your turning.

Rack glides over opposing lines of force on magnets, if I understand it correctly

What would be the purpose for making the ABS go away?

    1. Magnasteer is an electronic device added to conventional power rack and pinion steering to vary the amount of effort required to steer the car, dependent on vehicle speed. At low speeds, steering effort is lower for ease in parking. As speed increases steering effort is increased for greater road feel. Additionally, on some models evasive steering maneuvers also affect steering effort.

    2. The purpose of making the ABS go away I presume would be if you had a failing ABS pump/system and did not want to repair/replace it. Other than that, not sure.

Be warned though- If you have an accident your ins. co. may deny the claim since you removed a factory installed safety item from the vehicle. You may be liable for damages to both your own vehicle and others involved, and any resulting injuries to either party.

When your brakes are locked up you will travel in a straight line and not be able to steer around objects. ABS give you the ability to steer your vehicle - while appling max braking force. It is impossible for any human to pump the brakes anywhere near as fast as what the computer can do.

Like in my case, where the ABS controller is absolutely retarded and does nothing except prevent the car from slowing altogether.

well i dont have a magnasteer thingy so i didnt have a single problem..as for the reasoning behind removing the abs, well, first i hate abs and dont drive my car during the winter anyways and rarely i the rain. yes i could have just cut a sensor wire or unhooked the wheel bearing sensor, and i did two years ago, but i hated the look of the abs pump so i wanted it gone. yes it also removed about 15 pounds although i could care less about weight although someone may. also i plan on painting my engine bay when i repaint this fall (as you can see its much needed from my pic) so that ugly ass block of abs modular is a lot easier to paint around when its not there. besides im unique now although thats never been a problem before. as for the accident senario...thanks for the thought as i hadnt considered that and i will call my insurance company tomorrow to get specifics so i can remain covered

What is the status? What did you find out about from the insurance company? Would this be any different if it were intentionally removed vs. the many people on the road with the ABS not working (like mine)?

Haha my ABS is on too, but I know what mine is, the right front speed sensor is messed up, the wire was cut. But would that make my magnasteer go away? I don't think I've even payed attention to if I have it, I generally only go fast in straight lines.

I'd just like to know which Master Cylinder you used...that's all I care about

But if you do want to do a write-up...I'd be more than happy to sticky it in the How To Section.
