my steering wheel shook very bad, especially when going down a hill. also the the brakes get a pulsating feeling in the peddle. no my service traction control light and service abs light is on. so they said i needed all 4 rotors replaced, a full wheel alignment and brake pads. i had all this done now they say i need speed sensors??? this car is a 2007 grand prix and only has 43,000 miles. ive never had a car require this much repair in this period of time. why does this happen? and all 4 rotors at the same time? and what are speed sensors? it cost me 665.00 dollars so far and am looking at another 400 for speed sensors and installation. i dont really have any idea about this and dont want to get taken. thank you to anyone that can help answer my questions.

Most of the Time the abs and TCS lights mean a bad wheel hub. Some have found it's sometimes as simple as a crimped wire coming off the wheel hub.

Why they're thinking wheel speed sensor? I haven't a clue

Because the wheel speed sensor is included in the hub, the sensor stops sending a reading for the ABS, which sets the ABS and Traction lights on......

We need a statement at the top end of this section that says search before you type any thread with the words ABS or Traction lights...

It was probably time for new pads anyway, however i'm sure your rotors probably could of just been turned (unless you had other braking issues).

i had the same problem and it was my hub but i have also had those lights come on when my brakes and rotors were shot. If you have a gxp with the drilled and slotted rotors i sugguest changing them yourself and it may sound crazy but napa autoparts has great rotors that are drilled and slotted and they have lasted alot longer than oem parts.

the answer is before the question.

had the same problem and it was just a broken wire. maybe get an abs code scan?
