Thread: how f^cked am I ?

long story short, i snapped a stud on the front hub putting on my rims. what do i do?

replace the stud

pound it out, and put a new one in, the trick i learned here was to cut the one side of the flat back off so it can clear its way into the hub, then put a lug nut on backwards and crank it in.

does the hub need to taken off?

no sir.

thats why you need to cut off one side of the new stud, so i will slide in. you know the fat round part that holds it from pulling through.

ok. how much of a pia would it be to hacksaw it? or should i hunt down someone with a grinder

Get a grinder, thats your best bet. Hacksaw would likely do it but your wrist might be soar after Or just replaced the whole hub.

yea just take it to a tire shop they will probably do it cheap.
