Been having this issue for awhile now,, it started when I would hit holes in the road(not on purpose of course). Abs/traction control/service variable effort steering/service brake system all would light up. Once I would kill the car and restart, it would clear all the faults. At times I would pull in or out of my driveway and the car would slide-- traction control would come on.
Last time I had it at the dealership, I was told it was either the wheel sensor or the wiring harness. As of then, they could not trace it down, and they did not want to replace something that wasnt the cause. So I was told to drive it til it got worse.
Now, all the lights are on and will not reset. So the other day I had the wheel sensor replaced. Didnt fix it.
Now Ive noticed a bad shake when accelerating. So I had my tires balanced-- didnt fix it. So I was thinkin-- maybe bad cv joint.???
I took it to another tire store today-- just to make sure the tires were balanced b4 I started worrying about replacing things. They had a mechanic drive my car-- sure enough-- he thinks bad cv joint. He was also so kind to hook up the scanner to find my warning light issue. He said the codes are saying- ECM. He told me that there are 2 different ECMs. 1 for the ABS,, and 1 for the main computer. However, he said it didnt specify to which 1.
    So my 2 questions are---
Is there anything I can do to determine which ECM it is other than just replacing 1 to see if I got it right.????
    AND
as for the cv joint-- he said theres no way of determining which side it is right now(its not makin any noise,, its just a bad shake).-----Surely there has to be a way to figure it out...?

    Any suggestions?

It could be the computer for the abs, but I think personally it is a wheel sensor, if you got one replaced there is still 3 more, one per wheel. YOu can narrow it down to either the front or the back, but to see which wheel it is it needs to be driven while hooked up to a scanner. Start the car while its in park with the warning lights off, then steer the steering wheel left to right if the lights came on its one of the fronts if it doesnt its the rear wheels, since the only thing thats moving while your in park is just the front wheels.

Ive been having the same problem with my 2004 GP, abs light, tc light, brake light, and service effort steering light are all on and dont get reset when i turn the car off. I had a mechanic replace the o2 sensor, which fixed, or reset it for a day, but then turned back on. he also replaced the wheel hub. didnt fix it. Now just yesterday i brought it to another mechanic who checked the computer systems and two unknown codes came up. Does anyone have any idea on how much this would be for a GM dealer to fix, or look at?

post the un known codes up, someone here has got some clue. could have been abs codes and the guy had no way to look them up, but thats what google is for...

you can have your ecbm rebuilt, or get a junk yard one, they cost about 800 or so from a dealer. theres a thread on it search for it, the magnifying glass up top dead center is the search box.

Was this ever resolved? I've been having the same issue. I knew my passenger wheel bearing was going and could hear it failing. Eventually, I checked the pressure in that tire and it was showing 128psi. So I replaced that hub and it didn't solve it. Replaced the other side and didn't fix it. Didn't seem to be any tears in the wire and I cleaned all the sensor plugs with electrical cleaner.
