    Hello all..
    I am relativley new here...

I know this has been covered hundreds of times and there are "stickys" on this, but I'm more confused as I read over dozens and dozens of pages.

I have a 2003 Grand Prix GT, I just purchased with 78K miles, its showroom and I plan on keeping it for quite awhile. That said, I am
looking to upgrade the brakes front and rear. I have read about brake Bias and how oversize rotors affect this. I'm not necessarily interested in changing the stock brake bias, but I have read about upgrading to GXP rotors and calipers as a good fit with no modifications. So, I need some solid advise on which direction I should take. I have replaced my own brakes, rotors, calipers on my previous cars and none with any type of modifications.

BTW, how would I know if this is an "F" Body?

    Thanks so much in advance...

    Regards/Marc

f-body brakes come off f-body cars. for example: a camaro.

the cheapest way out of doing an expensive upgrade (i think the f-body is expensive and its really not that much, the gxp upgrade is expensive) is to swap the caliper brackets and rotors that you'd find on a newer impala/monte carlo and it gives a good gain going from 11.9" brakes up from the 10.9" brakes you have stock.

realistically the pads are going to make the most difference though.

    Thanks for the reply....
So, what your stating is go with the impala/monte carlo upgrade? How new impala/monye carlo will I be looking at? I think they stopped making those around 2007, Right?
I do have some money put aside and may have enough to do an GXP upgrade. Would either one of these upgrades be "bolt on"? Would the GXP upgrade have larger diameter rotors ( 11.9 )? I did look into the GXP rotors and they look a bit different than stock as far as bolting them up. Also, should I look at cross drilled rotors? I should add that I dont get on the car much and do alot of town driving. I'm going to powdercoat the calipers as well.

    Thanks again...

00-05 impalla will have 11.9" rotors.

GXP will be 12.7 which requires 17's at minimum.

Don't get crossdrilled unless you wanna pay for the look.
