Think I wanna know how you bent wheel studs.....and those rims look legit
I don't know about those rims being they have a lip...if you look at drunkie's rims they don't have a lip, and neither do the GXP rims
I got back to my buddies shop after a shakedown cruise, put the parking brake on, did a big burnout, after about 3 seconds it started wheel hopping like never before (since I got the zzp arms), so I stopped, rolled forward slowly and it road really bumpy, slowly rolled back into the bay, got it up in the air and the front wheel studs we're bent enough for it to be visible with the rims off.
Just sold the Lexani's on craigslist, and I'm going to do the brake swap come springtime with some new 20s and no spacers.
Spacers might "work" but they're not the right way to go about fixing the problem..
What's the best rear brake setup for the car?
well here it the some what good news as far as those rims i was looking at... I was talking to a buddy of mine at work and come to find out he just purchased the exact same set for his lexus.. so tomorrow we will be jacking them up and test fitting them on there before i buy them.. so hopefully they will work.. otherwise back to square one
Rear setups are a whole different topic. You won't gain much from them so its purely cosmetic. Id just do the gxp rear so you get a vented rotor..but it involvess changeing a few pieces iirc. I'm sure dave or someone who knows will chime in here.
yeah, spindles, calipers, rotors, pads, parking brake cables.
well damnit!! it is a no go on those rims as well... looks like i might just be getting some Tenzo Tracers V2 matte black with polished lip.. seeing how Drunkie ran the Tenzos with no problems
My charger rims should also be good. ALY2248B Dodge, 18x7.5, 5 lug, 4.5 Inch Bolt Pattern, 24mm Offset, 5
double spoke chrome alloy wheel. Center bore size is 71.5
well **** ordered some Tenzo Tracers yesterday and got a call from the company saying that they had talked to Tenzo and they no longer make that wheel in the 18x8.5" +32mm... what do you think about these? they look like they might work.
ya it was from them lol... i was not happy with the guy on the phone.. told him to take that **** down off their site if they didnt have it in stock.. let alone Tenzo not even making them any more haha.. ya he then proceded to try and see if i wanted another wheel from them
Got my CTS-V brakes today. Got them from Amazon for $229.00 shipped to my door.
On Amazon search for
ACDelco 172-2287 Caliper Assembly
ACDelco 172-2288 Caliper Assembly
Here are some pictures next to the stock brake calipers.
mmm pure sex
hey dave what rear brake setup your running? how is the brake bias with it? do you know if I can use any old 97-03 rear spindle and hub to do GXP rotors in back? do you reccomend the C5, SS fbody, or gxp rear calipers for that, I've heard they all fit into the GXP bracket?
thanks again bro, your the man
@buickman104 do the calipers work with your charger rims?
Yeah DumbaSS, they will work with the charger rims. Tons of room under those spokes. I will have mock up pictures with the rims later this week.
Well hurry up and get them on lol we Wana see pics... me I will have to wait even longer than anticipated ... waiting on tenzo to get my rims in back in stock.. atleast I can live vicariously through all your guys pics lol
I was contemplating those as well but i settled on the Tenzo DC-6 in charcoal.. they said they are out of them right now.. only have the black w/red lip, bronze and in a couple of days will have the all black... no eta on the charcoal or the black w/machined lip... guess its just a waiting game lol
Rear brakes are stock, I have not interest in blowing the cash to change out the rear hub and what not (since braking as is is more than enough for me). Brake bias is fine for me, it can be a little squirrelly under heavy braking. It would be cheaper to just buy the GXP rear caliper as a whole instead of swapping calipers around, they are all pretty much the same size. If you are a 97-03 hub you have now works, if your an 04+ I'd recommend finding a GXP hub.
Just waiting for day my buddy wants to let me use the shop to throw these on.
