    Need some advice...
I threw a set of junk pads on my car this weekend while I'm waiting for my rotors and pads to come in (tired of hearing grinding) and the upper caliper bolt on my LF wouldn't come out. I ended up using a breaker bar to get it out and noticed the threads inside were trashed. Do I tap this out and repair it or just get another caliper off feebay? Can anyone recommend a good kit?
I'm thinking the diameter would be bigger if I tapped it out and not able to use the caliper bolt? I've never done this before.

Or just not do anything and worry about it the next time my pads or hub bearing need changed. Laziness FTW.

Depending on it's location the caliper could pivot up and dig into the rim causing potential major issues if you are driving.

I'd get a new caliper on there asap or get some bigger brakes, which would swap out the calipers. (I'm thinking F body or Vettes)
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Come on dude, you're actually considering driving the vehicle with part the brake system broken???

    You know better...

    Get a new caliper.
AZ sells a re-manufactured one for around $35 with trade in.

It's the threads that the caliper pin screws into, and yes, I've been driving it all week. Actually, I think this happened last winter when I did my hub bearing I thought it was hard getting it out because it was 10 degrees in my garage, I had the torch on it. That pin isn't coming back out without the breaker bar. Oh well I guess a new caliper is in my future.
