It could use an aligmet...but this feels worse then an aligment problem.....and the tires are fairly new..less than 10 k on em...I thought maybe one was out of balance but I wouldn't think it would be intermittent then

i just found out i have an wheel bearing bout to explode and i had the same feeling last week and i guess i just got use to it, but when i put it on the lift, my tire rocks back and forth like a good 3/4 of an inch, and i have an 02 gp 3.1L, so if its not the snow thing like there talking about then i would check the ball joints, wheel bearings, control arm bushing and other things like that...

i think i found something....a motor mount?.its on the pass. side slightly to the right of the cv axle its got rubber around the bottom and iits about halfway behind that plastic shield..whatever it is its trashed...this may be my problem but im still leaning towards it being something rotational because when it happens it shakes to the frequency of the wheel turning then once i come to a stop and take off it starts again

do you all think this could cause my problem?

Could be, since it's bad..why don't you replace it and see fi the problem persists. Afterall the engine is part of the drivetrain and if that gets out of place or geometry.. oh wait..that's kinda like what you are saying. Something feels out of whack.

Always start with the obvious and then work your way to the least obvious.

ok....after changing the motor mount to no sucess i figured it out.....the pass. brake caliper is sticking horribly....i took a trip and got out and touched both sides and the pass. side couldve easily burned my hand if i held it there more than a second while the driver wheel was cool as could be...so im gonna change both of those and let you guys know how it is ( like you really care lol)

If your wheel bearing is shot enough it might ACT like a sticking caliper........That's how mine went on the Aurora.....Wheel bearing took the rotor and calipers out once it went......

Oh really?....well the bearing isn't making any noise....and the abs and traction lights would probably be on wouldn't they?

the wheel bearing can be bad without the lights being on. The lights come on when the sensor in the bearing is bad not the bearing itself

Yep, if the sensor can still make the proper reading the bearing can be shot but as long as the sensor gets the right reading it won't throw the ABS/TRAC OFF lights. Not hearing any sounds is good though, but if that caliper is dragging enough you'll def. hear that.

I'm not saying by any means that you're wrong about a sticking caliper....Just saying based on what I've had happen to me it's possible that the bearing could be shot enough to have so much play it acts like the caliper is sticking.

Right now my issue is with the sensor on my GP. I got stuck in some snow last month and it popped the sensor out of where it connects to the hub, put it back on that mount and now the lights intermittently come on and off.......Wires are good, checked those when I put it back on there, but I shoulda ziptied it down......Gonna do that, then heck, if that doesn't work i'm just gonna replace the bearings with the Timken internally mounted sensors in the bearing........Don't want that same experience, and i'm sure if i don't replace them now they'll go at some point anyway.

Damn that sucks....but I'm 99% sure its sticking...because her pads are starting to squeel on that side now also...and I just changed the pads n rotors about 6 months ago
