    Hey guys can you explain some of the symptoms of a bad rack and pinion in a 2000 grand prix se. 3.1 motor.
    My car about 5% of the time turns hard to the left. its gat 2 brand new quick struts in front, 2 new outer tie rods, new drivers side horizontal lower control arm bushing. it made it 95% better b ut still does it a little. My p.s. PUMP IS USED and the fluid in the resevoir dosent smell right and when i open it, it seems to have some air in it, im not sure if that is normal. PLEASE HELP!!

    The fluid should not have bubbles in it, but the steering pump knows no direction, so if you only have a problem turning one direction there's a good chance it's your steering gear. Sounds like the pump might be bad too.

    Did you get an alignment after you did all that work? If not....thats probably it

    i didnt get an alighnment but my car still drives strait with the wheel strait.

    On my 2000 GP GT it felt like i was all on my own with the steering which was due to the pump and then i had to get the rack and pinion replaced too. It was just overall hard to make a turn and i felt like i was goin to take out someone.
