Not sure if I'm posting this in the right category, mainly because I don't know what's causing my issue. A few weeks ago, I put new brake pads on the rear of my GXP. A few days later, as I was driving I felt the rear end "skip" or "jerk" at different times during acceleration and sometimes when I would pull out from a stop, at normal speed, the car would shake real bad. The car also seems to vibrate more at higher speeds. I pulled the wheels off and visually inspected the tires, wheels, brakes and suspension. Couldn't find anything. Took the car to my mechanic he did the same thing, couldn't find anything. Since then, it(the jerking) has got a little more frequent but still nothing consistent. I had the wheels balanced and an alignment done yesterday. The toe was way out on all four wheels. I haven't had a good chance to test it out because it's been snowing yesterday and today. At normal in town speeds, the vibration seems better. I was thinking maybe it's a tranny issue, and it just seemed as though it was in the rear. I had my mechanic change the tranny fluid and filter. The fluid was brown and there was some metal dust on the magnet in the pan. I only drove home from the shop(1 mile and drove it 2 more miles last night. It seemed better but when I was almost home it bucked or jerked again. Did anyone else have a similar issue? Could it be the tranny? Or tires(even though it's not constant)? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
