All four corners got Monroe Quick Struts this past weekend. They appear to have raised the car body about 1/8" when I measured before and after. The roads have been snowy and crappy since then, so I can't say whether the ride is improved or not, but the OEM ones were shot, anyhow.

Still have a rattle in the rear, though. Where should I start to look now? I'm thinking trailing arm mounts or lateral bar mounts.

Sweet. If the bad ones were bad, they were probably sitting low. On the other hand, sometimes new springs need time to settle in. I wouldn't worry about the lift. N/E how. Enjoy those struts. I heard a lot of good about them

I can live with 1/8" with no worries, even if they don't settle. Front tires already rub when turning and rears rub when going over hard bumps. I really need to roll the quarters

you know what, matt, I didn't even think to check if it was different on these new struts. The wheel wells are full of snow now, so once it melts off, I'll have to check. Thanks for the reminder

I HATE the Monroe Quick Struts...I replaced my original struts about 2 months ago with the Monroe's and now I drive a lifted Grand Prix...hate them so much, they make the car look like crap...Not quite sure what I can do I'm not going to drop another $500 on different struts when these are pretty new.

After putting a few hundred miles on them, they have settled to what seems to be a little below where the OEM ones were, just judging by the amount of additional rub I have now when I turn the front wheels.

Edit that. I just measured them out of curiosity. They're equal to or 1/8" lower than the OEM struts. They seem to handle fine, although it's still hard to say with the crappy roads we'll have until about April.

Were yours genuine Monroe Quickstruts? Just curious because the parts guy I bought these through told me the economy line he carries on hand is well known for raising the vehicle and NOT settling. In fact, he cited one example in town that used the lower end brand (chinese made) and they're still riding high.

Yeah I bought the Monroe's from Advance Auto..PN 171661, the fronts are listed at like $199 each I got them for $178 with the discount I can get from my friend, but yeah I don't really know whats going on with them, maybe a winter of pothole roads will break them in They have settled slightly but not to where I would have thought......BTW did you ever figure out what you're clunk in the rear was?

I think MOOGs are a little taller then stock. Dont they only sell the HD springs that used to come on the intrigue.

Idk but the front ones says there variable rate and ther rears are constant rate if it doesnt settle anymore which it prolly wont then ill have to get other springs on because it still sits too high
