    Does the sway bars make popping like noises if it needs replacement? Is it crucial to replace them ASAP?

    Swaybars dont really go bad unless u break or bend them.I would check the brackets that hold the bar on.The u shaped midway brackets(whatever there called).Might wanna check endlinks too if your down there anyway.

    One of the bolts that held my passenger side swaybar bracket was loose when i bought the car.It made a popping noise when i turned hard.Just tightened it up and the noise stopped.E-Z Fix in my case.

    Jack your car up and find out whats loose. Could just be a sway bar link that is not a big deal or your ball joint could be about ready to fall apart.

    Actually they do....

    They rust and snap. GO GM!

    OP, if either bar is broken then buy this:

    GM Parts Direct: Your direct source for Genuine GM Parts

    Its the cheapest way to replace both bars and ensure another ~10 years of operation.

    Then you sell the STB for profit.
