ya i also used 1/2 can of pb blaster. Although I didn't let it sit more than 1/2 hour at a time, I think it still helped. A friend of mine suggested pb blaster and letting it sit a few days then hit it again and keep doing the same process for a couple weeks then try doing the repair. He also suggested just taking the cv halfshaft out with the bearing still on it and using a press to get it off. Either way, I honestly think it was worth the extra $60 to get a new cv halfshaft and just replace the whole ****. Was a $60 well spent IMO.Originally Posted by Gorecki
Crap, my network won't let me see your pictures but I had a hell of a time with one of them being seized on my '05 but I learned my lesson and WD-40'd the hell out of the other front the night before and was MUCH easier.
Sad part is I actually bought a removal tool and there was no way in hell that thing was going to get the bearing off! So now it sits, unused on the shelf. Stuff we learn the hard way!
