Well Ive had my car for 3 years always wanted to lower it.. The car has 113k miles and I'm about to replace the struts for the first time.

I was originally going to sell the car soon but I might keep it and whats 200 dollars on some springs going to hurt.

My question is, Do I need new strut mounts? If so where is the best place to get them the cheapest? zzp?

Also how many miles roughly can you get out of just some regular replacement struts with lowering springs?

IF I sell the car in less than 2 years would it be worth me getting the agx's? or should I just get stock replacements and hope they don't go out before the car is sold?

Next question, Stock wheels whats the lowest option I have, intrax? I don't mind ride quality as much seeing as I will have a jeep as a DD soon.

If I lower the car do I need to get shorter dog bones?

Also will my dp hit with the headers I have?

    Thanks in advance guys

Regular struts on lowering springs? 10k (if that) maybe, you need agx, especially with a large drop.
You'll probably want strut mounts, don't get them from zzp though, just price Monroe strut mounts at amazon and a few other places.

I've had Springtech's on stock struts since about 68-70k...I've got almost 95k now...and no, mine isn't driven easy.

I don't know why I haven't ridden in your car yet. Hows the ride? Did you replace the struts with the springs or not?

Its not even about how long they last anymore, its about the amount of control you'll have.

You wont have much at all without the proper dampening with the struts.

and im sure you know pretty well with the amount of knowledge you have about lowering springs, right?

struts will last fine and i wouldnt waste the extra going to AGX. the car is always going to handle like a boat for the most part.

Enough to know not to go intrax and stock struts..
Been in multiple gtp's with large drop springs and stock struts, and it makes for a terrible ride. Regardless of if the struts would last its not worth it.

How soon is soon when you are talking about selling it? Why not just leave it as is and let the next person take care of that.

    Yes.

What headers do you have? My pacesetters with springtechs don't

    Thanks in advance guys
I like my springtechs. My struts are blown...but oh well. Get pogo washers and strut mounts for sure though. You're not going to want to do it again.

So thinking about ordering some stuff tonight..

Check out my list and see if I have everything I need.

    Parts store:

Struts - not sure what exact type but just stock replacements do they have a warranty?

Strut mounts - all four I'm guessing unless you guys think only one set needs replaced or what not.

    Online:

Anti Pogo Washers - Wheres the best place to get them cheapest?

Lowering Springs - I want low so I might SSC, Kind of afraid to get intrax if my struts will get blown so fast. Best place to get SSC cheapest? Is eibach lower than ssc? Looked at pictures on the thread about lowering it was hard to tell.

Shorter dogbones - might get off the forum here

Is that all you guys think I should get.. Add or remove anything?

SSC are not low. if you want low, but not intrax, then you should be looking at eibach or B&G.

if you have the choice to, get motor/trans mount spacers and don't do shorter dogbones. it is a much better solution.

struts: get GR2 or AGX, i dont know your budget. you do.

mounts: best to replace all of them so you know they are good.

pogo washers: supposed they are the sub frame washers. cheapest place? i dunno.

Motor and trans mount spacers, who makes those?

I don't want to spend to much on the whole setup since I might only have the car for 30k more miles. So would you recommend the gr2's or some from the parts store?

DO NOT get monroe. they will be DESTROYED by lowering springs. stock replacement struts might be alright, but GR2 are stock replacements, but have a slightly more stiff valving setup.

spacers, you either get them from vinnie (a member on here, search a little, you'll find him) or you make them.
