I received my R1 Concepts Brake Rotors, the Monte Carlo size ones to go with my 12" caliper brackets. I have to say R1 Concepts hit this one out of the ballpark! Great Price and really good quality.

I would like to thank Farnsworth for helping with a problem with 12" caliper brackets. It seems the prior owner had the rubber bushings from the caliper guide rods fall inside the tubes on the caliper brackets. Needless to say it took about a good hour to clean them out and get them ready for use.

Here are some shots from the install.

Here are the little bastards that kept me from doing my work

The pads that came with it were Posi Quiet Ceramic Premium pads, they were almost double the size of the stock originals.

Here is how bad the stockers were worn out.

I've got PosiQuiet semi-mets (and of course the stock 12" size) and I love the stopping power. The PosiQuiets have a nylon/teflon shim on the back of them that keeps them from squealing and you don't have to use the gel. They're quiet with a lot of bite.

One thing I noticed with the semi-mets is they have to warm up to get really great braking. Cold they do well, but warm the car feels like it'll nose dive with a tap.

I like those R1s. They're pretty popular with the Impala owners and I've been wanting to get some. They look great from behind those rims!

    good choice!!

I have the R1 Premiums, stock 12" for the Impala. Using their pads as well. About a year on them, still turning true. No warp, pads are holding up well, minimal dust.

Also have the F-Body upgrade from ZZP and a set of Stainless Goodrige lines.

Drive around for a bit in my 82 Malibu then get back in the SS. Hit the brakes and end up with a chest full of steering wheel.

I can't agree more Sabre. I have only driven on them a little bit and the stopping difference is like night and day. The pad surface was almost double that of the stock brake pads GM provides. I really notice the bite when going at slow speeds to a stop. You can FEEL them grip and hold. I think the slots on the disc help to only capture more of that grip.

I am glad I made the choice to go with the R1 Concepts. I paid $200 bucks even for all 4 discs and a full set of Posi Quiet Ceramic pads. You CANT BEAT THAT!!

I can safely say stop waiting! Get em :

That is the one thing I did not get yet. When I upgrade to the Fbody brakes, I will probably get the SS brake lines. I had a set of Goodridge on my GT and they were wonderful! But for now using the factory calipers I just left the stock the brake line tubing on till I get around to getting the FBody setup.

But the meatiness of these Posi Quiets, I dont think that will be anytime soon

I would whole heartidly recommend them! And the cost won't knick your bankbook to bad either I mean $200 bucks SHIPPED with a full set of ceramic pads. That is almost unheard of. And with R1's reputation, you realy can't go wrong!

They are just stock replacements for the factory pads. The Posi Quiets you can purchase from their site seperately for like $50 buck +/- shipping. They have a bigger brake surface area than the stockers had.

I wont be getting my FBody Calipers for a while now seeing how thick these pad are and how well they respond! And when I do? I am getting Posi's again no doubt!

Here is a link to the set I purchased.

    eBay Motors: Chevy Monte Carlo 95 96 97-05 F+R D/S BRAKE ROTORS+PAD (item 220224914931 end time Apr-23-08 12:28:22 PDT)

But the set I purchased came with Ceramic pads.

Here is their direct link to their "homepage" on eBay.

They really are great. A buddy of mine over on the Impala forums had them extra from some mix up in shipping. He sold 'em to me for a good price (all four wheels) and I put 'em on expecting some regular old pads. Man was I wrong. With OEM replacement rotors they still bite really well. And no noise at all.

I definitely plan on getting them again, and probably in semi-met again, too.

Yeah I got the E-Line. The pocketbook at the moment would not allow me anymore. But for being "E-Line" they sure as hell are pretty damn good to me! I can only imagine what their Premium ones are like!

I bought the E-Line about 4 years ago, and I am on my 2nd set of pads, and the rotors are just starting to show signs of warping. The OEM rotors I had to turn every 6 months. These things are the bomb.
