You do not need calipers. Order pads for your car and the caliper brackets and rotors from the Monte. As stated, you will also need the hardware kit to get the rubber boots that cover the caliper slide pins. I just did this a little over a month ago and it is a nice upgrade.

Brackets run about $50 shipped with the hardware kit. Pads and rotors depend on the quality you buy.

depending on how much you want to spend ls1tech.com in the ls4 section has a few guys doing Z06 and 2010 camaro brembo brake swaps! Most likely more than you wanted to spend just throwing that out their because people thought I was crazy a while ago saying CTS-V brake swap would be sweet. BTW the CTS-V and 2010 camaro brakes are the same from what Ive heard anyway. Also their is a guy that just put some cadillac DTS calipers brackets and rotors on his car. Cant remember if it was a monte or what though. Its all on ls1tech.com The DTS swap sounds pretty cost effective. Also the impalas have smaller brake boosters for a firmer pedal feel. Lol Im kind of a forum troll. ls1tech.com has all kinds of cool stuff on their.

not unless he wants to get the 06+ monte/impala which are dual piston and way better then the stock calipers.

Thats what I thought he was talking about.
Screw using stock calipers and 12" brackets..

You can get 06+ monte/impala calipers and brackets for around the same price as those 12" old monte brackets.

That guy hasent even bolted the camaro calipers. Just set them on the rotors. He doesnt even know if they will work yet.. So I wouldnt even try and attempt that.

Not only that, you need atleast 20s to run the 14" camaro brakes.

The CTS and DTS calipers are doable. There the same as the GXP,but you need at least 17s to run them.

You need the caliper/brackets, rotors, pads.
Bolts up like stock, just have to bend the brake line a little to get to the bleeder valve.

$110 on rotors is pretty cheap. No offesne, but brakes are important and wouldnt cheap out.

Its been a while since I looked, but im pretty sure the 12" rotors from the old monte are not much less.

You mean to tell my you need 20 inch wheels for a 14inch rotor? How do you figure? Thats about 6 inches of caliper clearance which is far more than needed. The thread I was talking about also has a set of Z06 calipers behind GXP wheels sure looks like it will fit to me.Z06 front brake conversion on GXP - Page 6 - LS1TECH Also the cts-v uses 14 inch rotors on 18inch wheels factory. Im about 99% sure the cts-v and 2010 brakes are the same.

From my understanding you don't NEED to get new calipers. You need the brackets, rotors, and pads along with the sleeves for the bracket and correct bolt. This would give you more pad contact patch on the rotor which would increase your stopping power. Adding on the dual piston calipers and even larger brake pads provides even more stopping power. If your on a budget I'd honestly just go with stock for right now and save up to get a nice set of 12" dual piston calipers and parts for the upgrade. Then you can paint them and do other such things to make it a nice clean upgrade.

Go look it up, I think 19s barley fit on camaros and most say 18s might fit if you find the right ones. I said 20s so you for sure would have problems. Do wonder why the camaro doesnt have 19s stock?

and who cares about the GXP wheels and Z06 brakes. Im not even talking about them. I already said you need atleast 17s to run GXP brakes and dending on what size C6 rotors you use. Might need a larger rim.

and depending on what gen CTS-V your talking about. The old ones run 18s, but dont have 14" brembos.

The new ones run 19s and 14" brembos. So do your homework next time.

You are talking about F-body calipers...

Totally different. Im talking about 06+ impala/monte calipers. They bolt on like stock. No sleeves.

Homework for you. Apparently according to you wiki is wrong?
The first generation CTS-V is based on the same GM Sigma platform as the base model CTS. The use of a V8 engine required a unique engine cradle distinct from the base CTS V6. Larger anti-roll bars and larger shocks were also added. The spring rate was significantly increased. The 2006-2007 update also included a stronger rear differential and half shaft design. Unique front and rear treatments also included mesh grilles over the front openings, a track-ready suspension, and 18x8.5 inch wheels inside of P245/45R18 Z-rated Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar run-flat tires. Brakes were 14.0-inch (360 mm) rotors with four-piston Brembo calipers at each wheel. In addition, GM badges were added on 2006 models.
Ohh so do your home work next time.
