    Hey guys,

I just bought my first pontiac, a 2001 GTP 2 door. Since I bought the car, the ABS and TC off lights will randomly show up once every 50 miles or so, and then go off the next time I start the car. There is also a wierd noise from under the hood from time to time, seemingly randomly. Is this possibly the power steering pump kicking on? From my reading, I am understanding that there is a problem somewhere in the EBTCM, either the module itself or wiring. There was tape over the connector into the module, so I am assuming this has been a chronic problem. I want to get this fixed for peace of mind and so that my power steering pump doesn't shoot craps. Is it always in the module its self, requring a new module, or is the problem often in the wiring? What else could this be? Can I replace the EBTCM myself?

The "wierd noises" does it happen when you stop at a light, with it in gear? kinda sound like rocks in your supercharger? The SC coupler craps out, its commom. YouTube - Replacing a worn out supercharger coupler on 3.8 GM engines <-- check it out

No, its definitely not in the supercharger. I think it is the ABS pump kicking on. It occurs with normal driving. The supercharger works fine and the coupler is good.
