I installed new pads and rotors on my wife's 4dr 02 GT and the front left is making a constant grinding/whoop whoop whoop/bent or warped rotor sound. This being my 6th W-Body brake job Intrigue/GP's I know how to change them. Her car does have a broken front left coil spring, the same brake that is making the noise. My question is...could the broken spring cause a camber to the wheel causing the noise or is it just a little bit of a bent/warped rotor from the factory? The noise did seem to get a little better the more I drove it. Maybe I'm just paranoid and it will eventually go away after putting more than 2 miles on them. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

It is likely caused by the dust shield hitting the rotor. There may also be a rust build up on the hub.

Problem solved.....got new quick struts installed on her car yesterday. THE NOISE WAS THE BROKEN SPRING GOUGING THE INSIDE SIDEWALL ON HER GOODYEAR ASSURANCE TRIPLE TREAD!!!! Good thing I took it off it in time the gouge is only about a 1/8th inch deep. No cords were damaged in the process.

LOL, this happened to my friend except he was driving then all of a sudden he heard the coil break and when he pulled into his driveway smoke came out from that side and he noticed that the entire sidewall of the tire was gone lol.

I have a broken one. Didnt even notice it until I was fixing my exhaust. Now I have some vogtland springs and gr2 struts to go in once it is running again.

We have two very steep grades by our house. The kind like going in or out of a fast food joint. She hits them at least 2-3 times a day. Likely the culprit for the broken spring.

Tell me about it.....i guess when i had the car up for her brake job the broken spring shifted and caused it. Funny thing is I have changed her oil 3 times or so since it was broken and it never moved. Bad luck i guess, but it's all good now. She can't believe how much better it drives.
